These are all photos taken in possibly early Jan 71 or late Dec. 70. Some of when we went to the Citadel in Hue to train the Hoc Bao to rappel, as they would be handling the rescue missions in Laos. I don't recall now who the slick pilots and crews were. Ed Kersey and I were there and I think Pat Stanley? I think we all enjoyed it.
One of the Blues platoon on the day of the change of command ceremony for Barrett/Newman. Because of that I am not in it. In the front row, second from the right end, is Captain Richard B. Frank, who went on to become a lawyer and now a historian and author.
One picture of me, SSG Tony Japuntich, who was the sometimes platoon sergeant/platoon leader of the Blues.
One photo of Ed Kersey, the platoon leader of the Blues in 70/71. Not a good photo of Ed, but it is a good photo historically, because this is us waiting on the psp for our rides to Khe Sahn in Jan. 71.
One picture is of SFC Ervin B. Cherry, a hoochmate, who died in the helicopter crash in 71. The Vietnamese who ran our little local PX gave me this photo because he knew we were friends.
One picture is of SSG Carter Jefferson, Jr., another hoochmate, who died of a blade strike in 71. Not a good photo and if someone else has a better one, please publish the good one.
One picture is of Major Newman and Cpt. Barrett at the change of command ceremony in 71.
